The system and method for calculating postal charges comprises the interface(100) for receipt and settlement server(200). The information of the postal matter is input to the interface for receipt from the client(10). The interface for receipt comprises the postal matter information input cache(110) and postal matter information transfer part(130). The postal matter information input cache produces the postal matter detailed information file and the postal matter configuring information corresponding to the postal matter detailed information file. The postal matter information receiving part receives the postal matter detailed information file and postal matter configuring information. The charge information storage unit stores the billing information.
