Summary:An image forming apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to prevent a defective image formed on a print medium by uniformly maintaining the amount of a developing agent. A developing apparatus supplies a developing agent to an image carrier. A developing agent container(400) stores a developing agent and includes a supply unit(440). The supply unit supplies the stored developing agent to the developing apparatus. A sensing unit(600) senses a remaining amount of the developing agent of the developing agent container. When the remaining amount of a developing agent sensed by the sensing unit is lower than a predetermined level, a control unit(700) changes a driving rate of the supply unit.
