A backlight assembly and a display device having the same are provided to connect adjacent substrates electrically by performing surface contact by respectively forming metal terminals in sides of a PCB(Printed Circuit Board) facing each other, thereby easily implementing inter connection between the substrates. In plural driving substrates, at least one light emitting chip(100) is disposed. End parts of the plural driving substrates facing each other are electrically connected through surface contact. Each driving substrate comprises the following. A conductive layer(220) is formed on a base substrate(210), and electrically connected with the light emitting chip. Power connection terminals(250a,250b) are electrically connected with the conductive layer. The power connection terminals which are formed in an end part of the driving substrate and face each other are electrically connected through surface contact. The power connection terminal comprises first and second terminals(251,252). The first terminal covers an upper surface of an electrode unit(240). The second terminal covers a side of the electrodes unit as being extended from the first terminal.
