| Abstract | A broadcasting receiver and a control method for the broadcasting receiver are provided to request, receive, and store essential information about an MUX with detailed information about the MUX when the broadcasting receiver enters a diagnostics menu, thereby reducing a delay time caused by request and data reception generated whenever a user views the detailed information about the MUX. A control method for a broadcasting receiver comprises the following steps of: receiving broadcasting signals(S21); inputting a diagnostics menu selection signal(S22); requesting essential information about an MUX(Multiplexer) for the received broadcasting signals with detailed information(S23); storing the received detailed information about the MUX(S24); and displaying the stored detailed information about the MUX(S25). |
