Summary:An electrophoresis display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to equip a protection cap for encapsulating the side and upper portions of the electrophoresis display device, thereby enhancing the reliability. A lower array member(141) includes a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) array formed on a lower substrate(131) and a pixel electrode(117) connected with the TFT array. An upper array member(143) is boned with the upper array member and includes an upper electrode(184) located oppositely to the pixel electrode. Charge pigment particles are arranged between the upper electrode and the pixel electrode. A protection cap(100) includes the first protection member(100a) for encompassing the side of the upper array member. The second protection member(100b) is extended vertically from the first protection member and covers the upper surface of the upper array. The protection cap is formed on the upper substrate.
