Summary: | A method for preparing nanocomposite powder is provided to produce the nanocomposite powder usable as a permanent magnet material having high-efficiency magnetic characteristics by an exchange spring effect between hard magnetic barium ferrite and soft magnetic nickel zinc ferrite. A method for preparing nanocomposite powder comprising barium ferrite and nickel zinc ferrite includes the steps of: (i) dissolving barium nitrate, nickel nitrate, zinc nitrate, and iron nitrate in distilled water; (ii) adding glycine to the solution to form a precursor powder by self-propagating high temperature synthesis; and (iii) calcining the precursor powder at 800 °C or below. The glycine is added in an amount of 1:0.5-1:1.5 based on the total weight of nitrates. |
