Summary:A method for supporting downloading/uploading of a multimedia message via a communication network is provided to perform the downloading/uploading service of the partial multimedia message when performing a re-connection service after disconnecting the network. A mobile terminal is connected with an MMSC(Multimedia Message Service Center)(S10) and then the multimedia message download request is requested(S11). The MMSC divides the multimedia messages to be transmitted plurally, designates the respective ranges of contents(S12) and transmits the designated ranges of contents to the mobile terminal. When the download of the multimedia message is not completed by the disconnection of communication, a process for requesting the re-transmission of the remaining portion of the partially downloaded multimedia message to the MMSC is performed. The MMSC transmits the multimedia message of the remaining portion to the mobile terminal. When the multimedia message of the remaining portion is downloaded, the download completion notification is transmitted to the MMSC(S20).
