A reflector and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to enable a substrate and a reflecting layer to be made of metal with high thermal conduction, thereby improving the heat radiating effect of a backlight unit. A reflector(50) comprises a substrate(51) and a reflecting layer(52). The substrate is made of metal with high thermal conduction. The reflecting layer is laminated on the substrate and is made of metal of a crystal type with high thermal conduction and reflexibility. The substrate is made of aluminum. The reflecting layer is made of silver.
