Summary:An ultrasound system and a method for forming an ultrasound image are provided to improve an image quality of a composition image by composing an area in which a plurality frames are spatially overlapped. An ultrasound system(100) for forming an ultrasound image includes a setting unit(120), a plurality of transducers, a frame forming unit(140), and a composition image forming unit(160). The setting unit sets common points where a plurality of extension lines of scan lines. The setting unit sets a plurality of imaginary common points based on the common points. The setting unit sets a plurality of scan lines and steering angles based on the imaginary common points. The transducers transmit and receive ultrasound signals on the scan lines of the scan line groups steered based on the steering angles while obtaining the frames. The frame forming unit forms frames corresponding to each of the scan line groups based on the received signals. The composition image forming unit forms a composition image by composing an area in which the frames corresponding to each of the scan line groups are spatially overlapped.
