Summary:An apparatus for retaining a ball of a linear slider are provided to be easily assembled and disassembled by allowing protrusion pieces to be inserted into settling grooves. A ball retaining apparatus, having a rod shape, comprises guide units formed by two longitudinal sides thereof, and protrusion pieces(41) at two ends. A ball retaining structure in a linear slider comprises settling grooves(342,344) corresponding to the protrusion pieces at each cover(34). Each settling groove has engagement grooves(342',344') so that a corresponding engagement piece(43) formed in the protrusion piece is inserted into the engagement groove. An inlet(341) is formed between the settling grooves. The settling grooves are connected with each other.
