Summary:A method of managing a server pool in a grid technique based ASP(Application Service Provider) service system is provided to manage server resources in the form of a virtual shared server pool and efficiently allocate the server resources according to the size of a work-load to meet client service quality and improve a server utilization rate. A utilization rate and a processing load of servers providing an allocation type application service are monitored(S401). When it is required to newly a server in order to provide the allocation type application service(S402), it is determined whether an available server resource exists in a server pool for the allocation type application service(S405), and the allocation type application service is continuously provided using the available server resource when the available server resource exists in the server pool(S410). When it is required to remove some of the servers which provide the allocation type application service, the allocation type application service provided by servers to be removed are interrupted and the servers are indicated as available server resources(S403,S404).
