A system and a method for providing AD(ADvertisement) by displaying grouped independent multiple contents continuously are provided to display grouped more than two independent contents continuously without making a user select each content and offer the AD efficiently by linking with the displayed contents. A contents group database(308) stores contents group information for the grouped contents and AD metadata for the AD provided by linking with the contents. A contents server(304) manages the grouped contents, and transmits the contents and the AD metadata corresponding to the contents by responding to a request of a terminal. An AD server(310) provides an AD file storing AD contents to the terminal. A head-end server(302) provides the contents group information including a list of the grouped contents to the terminal. The contents server transmits the information of the next contents among the grouped contents to the terminal while transmitting the contents and the AD metadata. The contents group information includes a contents group ID and the information for each content included in the contents group.
