Summary:A mobile terminal and a method for intercepting harmful media therein are provided to prevent harmful media, transmitted through MMS(Multimedia Message Service), from being exposed to young people. A slave mobile terminal receives a multimedia message, of which the media file portion has been encoded with a specific authentication key, through an MMSC(MMS Center) from a master mobile terminal(S510). If the user of the slave mobile terminal makes a request to confirm the multimedia message(S520), an authentication processing part in the slave mobile terminal confirms whether an authentication key corresponding to the multimedia message exists in a memory part, and provides a confirmation result to a control part(S530). If the confirmation result is positive, the control part decodes the media file portion of the encoded multimedia message using the authentication key stored in the memory part(S540). Then the control part displays the whole multimedia message including the media file portion through a display part so that the user can confirm the whole multimedia message(S550).
