Summary:The invention relates to a method for regulating the height of a lateral part (6) of a seat (5). Said method consists of exerting a traction force on a displaceable component (7, 8) of the lateral part (6) with the aid of a corresponding regulating mechanism (4), in order to regulate the height of the lateral part (6) in a variable manner. Preferably, a regulating element (11), which is displaceably mounted on a connector (9), is displaced along a guide recess (10) which is provided in the connector (9), in order to follow a predefined curve along which the lateral part is lowered or raised.
