Summary:A method for providing a portable phone service by using a natural language speech function is provided to specify functions of the portable phone and to implement the functions rapidly requested by a user by determining a service menu or subordinate menus via a natural language process in case that the user inputs usually used natural language. A method for providing a portable phone service by using a natural language speech function comprises the following several steps. The portable phone checks whether it is located under environment where natural language speech is properly realized(S101). In case that surrounding noise is severe, the portable phone displays a message that a portable phone service via the natural language speech recognition is impossible(S111) and guides the user to input instructions via a keypad(S112,S113). In case that the natural language recognition is possible, the user inputs the natural language speech(S102). The portable terminal checks whether the natural language speech is a proper instruction regarding implementation of a portable phone function(S104). If so, the portable phone checks whether the instruction is for making a call connection(S105). If not so in the step S104, the portable phone performs an exception processing routine(S106). If the instruction is for making a call connection in the step S105 and the user has to input a phone number directly, the portable phone attempts to make a call connection to a terminal with the directly inputted phone number(S110). If the natural language speech includes a name and a phone number of a callee, the portable terminal performs corresponding routines(S108). If the natural language speech includes only a name of the callee, the portable terminal performs corresponding routines(S109).
