Summary:A printing head, a printing device, a serial data generation device, and a computer program are provided to arrange a front end position of an effective nozzle area of one head chip and a rear end position of the effective nozzle area of the other neighboring head chip to a different level by arranging the head chips respectively having a nozzle area overlapped before/after the effective nozzle area. An inkjet type printing head(1) has a printing head structure for arranging the head chips respectively having the nozzle area overlapped before/after the effective nozzle area to arrange the front end position of the effective nozzle area of one head chip and the rear end position of the effective nozzle area of the other neighboring head chip to the different level. A multi-level quantizing section(133) converts gradation data corresponding to the effective nozzle area into a multi-level quantized value. A class outputting section outputs the multi-level quantized data classified into a head chip arrangement direction as serial data. A zero inserting section(137) inserts zero into the serial data. A line buffer(155) writes the serial data after zero is inserted and reads the serial data for the printer head at the same time.
