Summary:A device for finishing the front edge of the books with a flapped cover is provided to smooth the front edge of the books with the flapped cover without leaving the trace on the cover. A device for finishing the front edge of the books with a flapped cover comprises at least one conveyor unit(19,49), a finishing blade(36), a presser(42), a counter-presser, and two furrower units(40). The conveyor unit includes the two suspension belts(48,50) mounted around a pulley and formed with the distance positioned between the adjacent branch units and uniformly formed with the thickness of the book. The finishing blade is moved on the vertical plain surface formed in parallel to the moving direction of the book. The presser and the counter-presser are separately contacted with the corresponded portion of the book block adjacently positioned at the cut plain surface of the finishing blade. The two furrower units are inserted between the book block and the opened portion of the cover to prevent the interference between the blade and the cover.
