Summary:A system and a method for providing an electronic ticket service through the mobile network are provided to prevent robbery, missing, and damage of a transportation ticket for a bus and a train, and enable a serviceman to easily check boarding of the customer by issuing the transportation ticket to a mobile terminal of a customer. An electronic ticket service server(50) issues the electronic ticket to the mobile terminal(20) of the customer if the customer requests purchase of the ticket, generates boarding information by receiving an electronic ticket recognition result from an electronic ticket recognition terminal(70), and provides the data to a serviceman mobile terminal(30). The electronic ticket recognition terminal recognizes the electronic ticket transmitted to the mobile terminal of the customer and informs the electronic ticket service server of the recognition result. The electronic ticket service server is linked with an SMS(Short Message Service) server(60) to transmit the electronic ticket to the mobile terminal. The electronic ticket is displayed as one of a mark, an icon, and a barcode.
