A portable electronic appliance is provided to install two directional keys on the side surface of the first case and the side surface of the second case, thereby subsequently indicating four directions and realizing a small-sized portable terminal. A portable electronic appliance comprises a manipulation key, first and second directional keys, and third and fourth directional keys. The manipulation key is installed in a manipulation part. The first and second directional keys are close to one side surface of the second case. The third and fourth directional keys are close to a side surface of the first case. The side surface of the first case, on which the third and fourth directional keys are installed, is positioned in a direction identical to a direction of the side surface of the second case when the first case overlaps with the manipulation part of the second case in a state in which a display is exposed. The third and fourth directional keys are close to the first and second directional keys.
