Summary:An apparatus and a method for processing digital broadcasting are provided to manage program guide information without loss even in a power cut-off state by storing program guide information by using a non-volatile memory, reduce power consumption in a standby state by confirming program guide information, and resume supply of power by using stored program guide information in a power cut-off state. A program guide information processor(30) collects and processes program guide information guiding programs of digital broadcasting. A non-volatile memory(28) receives the program guide information from the program guide information processor and stores the received program guide information. A tuner(20) receives and tunes broadcasting signals received through an antenna(5), and outputs a tuned result to a demultiplexer(22). The demultiplexer demultiplexes the tuned result and outputs program guide information from the demultiplexed result to the program guide information processor. A decoder(24) decodes the demultiplexed result and outputs the decoded result to a RAM(26). The RAM stores a program for controlling a CPU realizing the program guide information processor.
