Summary:A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to detect contact coordinates, which are contacted by a user, on a touch screen by using a detecting unit. A display device includes a touch screen panel and a controller. The touch screen panel includes plural vertical and horizontal shaft sensors and outputs sensing data from the vertical and horizontal shaft sensors every frame. The controller receives the sensing data and outputs coordinates of a contact position on the touch screen panel. The controller includes plural frame memories(310), a first logical unit(320), plural buffer memories(330), and a detector(340). The frame memories store the sensing data. The first logical unit sums the respective sensing data stored in the frame memories and outputs the result. The buffer memories store the sensing data value. The detector detects the coordinates of the contact position using the sensing data value.
