A method and a system for providing a selective dialing service using multi-string input in a mobile terminal are provided to conveniently execute dialing without the necessity of storing or memorizing phone numbers by inputting an easily associable multi-string and to increase work efficiency by getting in touch between departments through multi-string input in a company. An SCP(Service Control Point) receives a call forwarding number request message containing a destination number from an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) which has received a call request message through a BS(Base Station) from a mobile terminal. Based on the received call forwarding number request message, the SCP extracts a multi-string corresponding to a conversion number contained in the destination number from a multi-string DB and analyzes it(S224). The SCP disassembles the multi-string into a keyword and a member using the token contained in the multi-string(S226). The SCP searches a member list DB for the members of a member list corresponding to the keyword, and judges whether a plurality of members having the same name as the member of the multi-string exist(S228). If so, the SCP transmits a callback short message to the mobile terminal(S230). If the mobile terminal accesses the SCP using the callback short message, the SCP provides the member list to the mobile terminal so that the user of the mobile terminal can select a desired member(S232).
