Summary:An audio output device using low power in a digital television is provided to make only audio signals outputted through standby power according to a control command of a user when a channel is a music channel or a news channel, thereby reducing unnecessary power consumption. An audio output device using low power in a digital television comprises the followings: a key input unit(36); a sub tuner(20); a demodulator(22) for demodulating an audio signal inputted from the sub tuner(20); a power unit(30); and a decoder(24) which applies standby power by controlling the power unit(30) according to a control command of a user inputted from the key input unit(36), performs a demultiplexing and decoding process in order to separate the audio signal from a broadcasting signal inputted from the demodulator(22) and outputs the audio signal as a digital audio signal of 5.1 channel.
