Summary: | A method for quantizing and inverse-quantizing a channel level difference based on virtual source location information is provided to minimize aural deterioration in SAC(Spatial Audio Coding) and improve sound quality without increasing complexity. A channel level difference parameter used as a spatial parameter is quantized when a multi-channel audio signal is spatial-audio-coded. Sub-band channel level differences are extracted from the multi-channel audio signal. The channel level difference is quantized with reference to channel level difference quantization table designed by using a channel level difference quantization value derived from a virtual source location information quantization value of the multi-channel audio signal. |
