Summary:An LCD, a color filter substrate used in the same, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to simplify the manufacturing process, by simultaneously forming one of three color filters and a column spacer of the same material using a single mask. A black matrix(170) is formed on an insulating substrate(165). A first color filter(175) is formed after forming the black matrix. A second color filter(176) is formed after forming the first color filter. A third color filter(177) and a column spacer(180) are simultaneously formed of the same material after forming the second color filter. The third color filter and the column spacer have different heights. The column spacer is positioned on a boundary between the first color filter and the second color filter.
