Summary: | A driving method of an external electrode fluorescent lamp inverter for a backlight is provided to effectively control the switching of a full-bridge inverter switch device by applying a square wave voltage through self-excitation. A driving method of an external electrode fluorescent lamp inverter for a backlight includes the steps of: applying a square wave voltage for driving the external electrode fluorescent lamp to a primary side of a transformer; and making the external electrode fluorescent lamp emit light through self-discharge by applying a frequency of the square wave voltage to the primary side of the transformer in a region of substantially half of a resonance frequency determined by capacitance of the external electrode fluorescent lamp and parasitic inductance of the transformer. |
