Summary:The invention relates to a fitting system for a vehicle seat, in particular to a motor vehicle seat. Said system is constructed in such a way that it makes it possible to adjust the inclination of a backrest with respect to the seating part of the seat and comprises a first fitting (10) and a second fitting (20) which is arranged and fixed above the adjusting fitting (10). When the first fitting (10) is unlocked, the backrest can be adjusted at different vertical operating positions and/or at least to one lying backward inclined position. When the second fitting (20) is unlocked, the backrest can be adjusted to least to one vertical operating position and to the position of a forward open table. The inventive first and second fittings (10, 20) are embodied separately in the form of entirely functional adjusting fittings.
