TWO-DIMENSIONAL PHOTONIC CRYSTAL
A two-dimensional photonic crystal, wherein in a plane in which a rectangle whose shorter side (X1) is (x1) in length and whose longer side (Y1) is (y1) in length is used as a unit lattice (L) and four adjoining unit lattices (L) are disposed so as to have one angle in common, a first columnar diele...

Summary: | A two-dimensional photonic crystal, wherein in a plane in which a rectangle whose shorter side (X1) is (x1) in length and whose longer side (Y1) is (y1) in length is used as a unit lattice (L) and four adjoining unit lattices (L) are disposed so as to have one angle in common, a first columnar dielectric region having a rectangular cross-section whose shorter side (X2) is (x2) in length and whose longer side (Y2) is (y2) in length is disposed on the shorter side (X1) and longer side (Y1) of each rectangular unit lattice (L). In this two-dimensional photonic crystal, the first dielectric region is disposed so that the midpoint of the shorter side (X1) and the midpoint of the longer side (Y1) and the center of the rectangular cross-section substantially coincide, and the longer sides (Y2) of each first dielectric region are substantially parallel to each other. |
