Summary: | PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to minimize the effect of phase retardation due to cell gap difference between a transmission region and a reflection region, thereby equalizing performances of color reproduction at the transmission region and the reflection region so as to obtain the LCD of high quality, by forming the transmission region and the reflection region to have different liquid crystal alignments. CONSTITUTION: The first substrate(100) and the second substrate(200) are opposed to each other and have a plurality of pixels. A liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first and the second substrates. Each of the pixels has the first mode and the second mode of different liquid crystal alignments. Liquid crystals in the first mode are aligned to have the first tilt angles with respect to the first substrate. Liquid crystals in the second mode are aligned to have the first tilt angles with respect to the first substrate at a region adjacent to the first substrate and the second tilt angles with respect to the first substrate at a region adjacent to the second substrate. |
