Summary:PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for modelling a human-quality three-dimensional face based on images are provided to obtain data using a digital camera and generate a desired result from imperfect input data. CONSTITUTION: Facial features in front and side facial images of an input image are detected(100). A generic mesh is changed using the detected facial features to generate a three-dimensional face model in order to determine the three-dimensional shape of a specific face(120). A human-quality texture is generated from the input image(160). The texture is mapped on the three-dimensional model(180).
