Summary:PURPOSE: A washing method of a washing machine is provided to inform a consumer of a non-corrected state of a conductivity calculating unit and a washing progress by executing a washing course according to a set washing algorism after showing exactly the non-corrected state of the conductivity calculating unit on a display unit. CONSTITUTION: A washing method of a washing machine is composed of steps for detecting the temperature of the water by a temperature sensor and potential difference of the water by an electrode sensor; calculating conductivity according to the detected potential difference by a conductivity calculating unit coupled with the electrode sensor; executing a washing course by judging the quality of the water from the temperature or conductivity of the water with a microcomputer; loading a correction value to the conductivity calculating unit to correct detection deviation of the conductivity calculating unit in applying power(S1,S2); judging if correction of the conductivity calculating unit is executed(S3); displaying a sensor error of the washing machine on a display unit if correction of the conductivity calculating unit is not executed(S4); and executing the washing course by setting a washing algorism(S6).
