Summary:PURPOSE: A mobile communication terminal for an SMS and a method are provided to analyze an SMS message, and to overlay a text message on a background screen corresponding to a background screen code if the background screen or a background music code exists, then to output background music corresponding to the background music code, so that a user can select a desired background screen and background music. CONSTITUTION: A controller decides whether a text message write request is received(400). If so, the controller writes a text message(402). When the text message is fully written, the controller decides whether a request for designating a background screen is received(404). If so, the controller designates a background screen(406). The controller decides whether a request for designating background music is received(408). If so, the controller designates background music(410). The controller decides whether an SMS transmission request is received(412). If so, the controller transmits the text message, the background screen, and the background music by using an SMS(414).
