Summary: | PURPOSE: Provided is a wet electrophotographic toner composition, which forms an uniform image, shows excellent transfer characteristics, and is particularly suitable for electrophotographic processes wherein an image is transferred from the surface of a photoconductor to an intermediate transfer material, while not forming a film on the photoconductor, or transferred directly to a printing medium. CONSTITUTION: The wet electrophotographic toner composition comprises: (a) a liquid carrier having a Kauri butanol value of less than 30 mL; and (b) a plurality of toner particles dispersed in the liquid carrier. In the toner composition, the toner particles comprise a polymeric binder comprising at least one amphipathic copolymer including at least one S-material part and at least one D-material part. The amphipathic copolymer comprises crosslinking functionalities in the amount sufficient to provide three-dimensional gel having such a controlled rigidity that allows a reversible change into a fluid state by the application of energy. Additionally, the toner composition does not form a film under photoreceptor image formation conditions. Particularly, the crosslinking functionalities are provided by incorporating at least one di-, tri- or tetra-functional polymerizable compound into the amphipathic copolymer. |
