Summary:PURPOSE: A media path redirection device and a method are provided to cause a redirection of a new media path part between a packet switched part and a circuit switched part of an MSC(Mobile Switching Center), thereby processing a receiving call. CONSTITUTION: A media path configuration(202) processes a receiving signal in a circuit switched media path(154) from a PSTN(120). A GMSC(Gateway Mobile Switching Center)-FS(Featuring Server)(106) receives a call origination message(204) through an interface(206). The call origination message(204) includes a subscriber directory number. The GMSC-FS(106) obtains a temporary location directory number from an HLR(134) by using the call origination message(204), and updates the call origination message(204) with the obtained number. The GMSC-FS(106) transmits the call origination message(204) to an SMSC-FS(104).
