Summary:PURPOSE: A device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent patient blood/plasma of a patient from being influenced by foreign substances during removal of bilirubin. CONSTITUTION: A device comprises a first line(10) and a second line(12) connected to a patient(P); an impermeable irradiation unit(14) for body fluid, interposed between the first line and the second line and connected to the first line and the second line; and one or more adjustable supply units(16) for body fluid, arranged in the first line and the second line. The first line is designed such that body fluid from the patient continuously circulates and is directed toward the irradiation unit. The second line is designed such that the irradiated body fluid continuously circulates to the patient. The irradiation unit includes an irradiation source for emitting electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength exceeding 430nm, and preferably 450 to 530nm. Flow of the body fluid passing through the first and second lines and the irradiation unit, is adjusted by the adjustable supply units.
