Summary:PURPOSE: A paper returning device embedded with a buffer function is provided to realize a certain rotational speed of a paper returning drum regardless of size of paper, thereby supplying plural sheets of the paper to a reprocessing device and exactly discharging the paper without time loss. CONSTITUTION: Plural paper returning grips(36a-36d) are disposed at certain intervals on the circumference of a paper returning drum(105). A cam(42) opens and closes the paper returning grips(36a-36d) such that the paper returning grips(36a-36d) can selectively grip papers transferred along the circumference of the paper returning drum(105). An end fence(50) is driven by a solenoid to buffer the papers transferred along the circumference of the drum(105) or papers transferred along the circumference of the drum(105) while being entangled in the grips(36a-36d) as many as predetermined sheets of the papers.
