Summary:PURPOSE: An image sensor having a reset voltage compensating unit is provided to prevent image distortion from generating when capturing strong light source such as sun by setting a reset voltage restriction level. CONSTITUTION: A pixel array unit(501) comprises M x N unit pixels. A reset voltage compensation discriminating unit(402) receives a reset voltage of each unit pixel, compares a reset voltage restriction level with the reset voltage and then discriminates compensation of the reset voltage. A reset voltage compensation unit(403) outputs a value for compensating the reset voltage of the unit pixel according to the output of the reset voltage compensation discriminating unit. An analog/digital change unit(504) changes analog signal outputted from the reset voltage compensation unit and pixel array unit into digital signal. A pixel line memory(505) stores the output of the analog/digital change unit(504). An image signal processing unit(506) performs various functions for enhancing performance of the image sensor by using the value stored to the pixel line memory. A control and outside system interface unit(507) controls entirely the operation of the image sensor and interfaces to the outside system.
