Summary:PURPOSE: An optical axis adjuster of a head lamp for a vehicle is provided to adjust the optical axis of the head lamp properly by measuring the inclination angle of the vehicle body accurately. CONSTITUTION: An ECU(7) of an optical axis adjuster of a head lamp receives information from a vehicle speed sensor(23) and measuring signals from an inclination sensor(6). The inclination sensor is composed of transmitters(9a,10a) and receivers(9b,10b). The ECU decides stop or travel condition of the vehicle based on the vehicle speed measured by the vehicle speed sensor, and calculates the inclination angle based on measured values from the receivers and the transmitters. The ECU commands to store the initial value by a failure diagnosis unit(24). An actuator(21) is driven according to the calculated inclination angle, and the optical axis of the bulb is adjusted corresponding to the inclination angle.
