Summary:PURPOSE: A smart receiver for wireless peripherals of a computer is provided to order a correction action by measuring one pulse width among received pulse included signals, judging a difference between an optimal pulse width and the measured pulse width, measuring a signal strength of a received packet, and judging electrical potential interference. CONSTITUTION: A wireless mouse(202) transmits a high frequency signal to a receiver(204). The receiver includes an interference module(206) judging that the interface is present when the wireless mouse transmits data to the receiver and a signal strength module(208) analyzing strength of the signal received in the receiver. The receiver is connected to a computer(210). The computer includes a corrective action module(212). The corrective action module receives information from the interference module and the signal strength module, and orders a corrective action if the interface is present. A display(214) connected to the computer displays a wireless alert(216) to the user. The wireless alert orders the corrective action for moving the wireless mouse close to the receiver.
