Summary:PURPOSE: A method for storing a DVD title is provided to first record a title name in a user data area while recording image information, and to automatically record user data including the title name on an HDD, thereby automatically displaying the title name for a stored program. CONSTITUTION: If a copying-key signal is supplied to a controller(S110), the controller stops a time shift function(S120), and starts a process for storing a reproduction signal of a DVD player in a long-term recording area of an HDD(S130). The controller decides whether information on a currently played DVD title is picked up from a disk information file area of a DVD(S140). If so, the controller records a DVD title name in the user data area, and records user data in a root directory area of the HDD(S150). If a key signal for stopping a copy process is inputted(S160), the controller stops the recording in the long-term recording area, and starts the recording for the time shift function in a temporary recording area(S170).
