Summary:PURPOSE: A method for sharing a server load based on foreign port distribution, specifically processing a request from a client is provided to prevent bottle neck by dividing a foreign port range into sub-sets and assigning the sub-sets to different servers. CONSTITUTION: If receiving an incoming connection request from a client, an operating system kernel selects a socket having matched local port and local port IP addresses, and a foreign IP address(400,402). It is judged whether the requested foreign port set is a part of foreign port sets assigned to the socket(404). If not, it is judged whether it reaches an end of a socket list(406). If all sockets are processed, the connection request is denied(408). If so, the connection request is transmitted to the socket(408).
