Summary:PURPOSE: A method for preparing a colloid solution containing iron oxide nanoparticles and a colloid solution prepared by the method are provided, to obtain a colloid solution containing iron oxide nanoparticles which is transparent, stable and highly dispersive and is free from precipitation. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of dissolving a surfactant in an organic solvent to prepare a surfactant solution; mixing an iron salt aqueous solution and the surfactant solution homogeneously to prepare an emulsion; mixing a basic solution and the surfactant solution homogeneously to prepare a basic mixture solution; and mixing the emulsion and the basic mixture solution. Preferably the surfactant is at least one anionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of sodium dodecyl sulfate, sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate, dodecyl benzenesulfonic acid, sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate, sodium alkyl phenol ether sulfonate and sodium alkyl sulfonate; the iron salt is at least one selected from the group consisting of iron sulfate, FeCl2, FeCl3, iron nitrate, pentacarbonyl iron, iron acetate, iron oxalate and iron ammonium sulfate; and the basic material of the basic solution is at least one selected from the group consisting of NaOH, KOH, LiOH, tetramethyl ammonia, ammonia and sodium carbonate.
