Summary:PURPOSE: A method for managing file replication on applications during a synchronization event is provided to offer the method for unifying the application and an API(Application Programming Interface) enabling the application to request/control a file synchronization process while keeping experiences of an application user. CONSTITUTION: The first application opens the first version of an electronic file(411). The first application determines that the first application has the second version associated with the first version(413). If the second version is not found, the first application determines that the first version is the sole copy of the electronic file and processes the first version in normal way(417). If the second version is found, the first application performs synchronization between the first and the second version by connecting to the API(415).
