Summary:PURPOSE: A method for reducing a roaming time of a mobile communication terminal is provided to calculate values of cell reselection parameters, and to decide whether a cell reselection condition is met based on the parameters of each VPLMN(Visited PLMN(Public Land Mobile Network)) and an HPLMN(Home PLMN), to search a corresponding cell for reselection, thereby reducing a roaming time. CONSTITUTION: A terminal continuously measures a signal strength, and monitors cells(100). If a user moves in an area where a VPLMN and an HPLMN coexist, the terminal compares IDs of PLMN cells with an ID of an HPLMN cell, and searches a PLMN ID identical with the ID of the HPLMN cell(102). If the searched PLMN ID is identical with the HPLMN ID, the terminal calculates cell reselection parameters(103). The terminal searches a PLMN cell corresponding to a cell reselection condition based on values of the cell reselection parameters(106). The terminal selects the searched cell as a new cell(108).
