PURPOSE: An air conditioner used for both dehumidification and air conditioning is provided to improve the cooling and heating efficiency by smoothly moving a refrigerant and realizing fixed temperature dehumidification. CONSTITUTION: An air condition includes a compressor(52), an outdoor heat exchanger(54), an expansion valve(56) for cooling and heating, an indoor heat exchanger, and a flow switch valve(64). The indoor heat exchanger is formed of first and second indoor heat exchangers(58,59) condensing and evaporating a refrigerant by exchanging heat with the indoor air in a dehumidifying operation. An electronic expansion valve(66) for dehumidification is installed parallel to a refrigerant tube between the first and second indoor heat exchangers for controlling an open value not to reduce a pressure of the refrigerant in the case of a cooling and heating operation. The electronic expansion valve controls the open value for controlling flux and reducing the pressure of the refrigerant before the refrigerant flows into the second indoor heat exchanger after passing through the first indoor exchanger in the case of the dehumidifying operation.
