Summary:PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel and a plasma display device are provided to improve an image quality by reducing a number of an overall cell write discharges. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel divides a display field corresponding to a display of a screen into a plurality of subfields(SF1-SF11). A grayscale display is realized by combining subfields to be lit among the plurality of subfields. Each subfield includes at least an address period during which writing operations are perform on cells to be lit in the subfield and a sustain period during which emission operations are performed in the written cells. All of the cells to be lit in a display field are lit in a predetermined subfield among the plurality of subfields constituting the display field.
