Summary:PURPOSE: A path searcher using a reconfigurable correlator set is provided to enable each set to process an antenna output with respect to an arbitrary user code by forming a reconfigurable correlator pool. CONSTITUTION: A code controller(32) controls a UE code inputted to each correlator set. The correlator sets(341,340) correlate the inputted UE code with an antenna output inputted from plural antennas. An antenna controller(30) selectively connects one output of the plural antennas to an input of each correlator of the correlateor sets(341,340). Plural UE code generators generate plural UE codes. Each delay unit delays a selected UE code by the predetermined amount, and each correlator receives a different code phase delay of the selected UE code. A classifier(36) and a path selector(38) classify an output energy level of each correlator and generate a user path profile based on the classified output energy level. Each correlator includes a multiplexer for mixing a selected one of the multiple UE codes with an output of a selectively connected antenna.
