Summary: | PURPOSE: An active organic EL device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce crosstalk between neighboring pixels by forming electrodes for BM at non-emitting region. CONSTITUTION: An active matrix type EL device comprises a substrate(1) having a plurality of pixels; a driving element including a gate electrode, an active layer, a source electrode, and a drain electrode; a first electrode connected to the drain electrode; an insulating layer(3) formed on the non-emitting region of the first electrode; an electrode(4) for BM formed on the insulating layer; a second electrode connected electrically to the electrode for BM; and an organic thin film(5) disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and emitting light by electric field.
