PURPOSE: A method for detecting defects of an object to be inspected by using an ultrasonic wave and a defect detecting system using the same are provided to easily detect defects by using the ultrasonic wave and to decrease a time required for detecting defects by automatically performing defect detecting procedures. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting defects of an object to be inspected by using an ultrasonic wave comprises the steps of projecting ultrasonic pulses to the object to be inspected and receiving ultrasonic pulses reflected from the object to be inspected. Pattern information of the received ultrasonic pulses is converted into signals recognized by a computer(9). Predetermined parameter values are extracted from the converted signals by means of the computer. A reference value is compared with the extracted parameter values in order to determine whether or not defects exist. 본 발명은 초음파펄스를 이용한 피검체의 결함탐지방법 및 장치에 관한 것으로, 피검체에 초음파펄스를 발사하는 단계; 피검체로부터 반사된 초음파펄스를 수신하는 단계; 수신된 일련의 초음파펄스가 가지는 패턴정보를 컴퓨터가 인식가능한 신호로 변환하는 단계; 상기 변환된 신호로부터 컴퓨터를 이용하여 소정 파라미터값을 추출하는 단계; 및 당해 피검체를 대상으로 상기 추출된 파라미터 값과 당해 파라미터에 설정된 기준 값과를 비교판단하여 결함여부를 판단하는 단계를 포함한다. 또한 본 발명에 사용되는 결함탐지시스템은 컨트롤러; 콘트롤러의 제어에 따라 피검체를 지지대에 부착하거나 지지대로부터 탈착하는 피검체 탈부착수단; 컴퓨터의 제어에 따라 피검체에 초음파를 발사하고 피검체로부터 반사되는 초음파 신호를 수신하는 센서를 포함하는 초음파 센서부; 상기 초음파 센서와 컴퓨터와의 사이에서 전기적 신호를 인터페이스하는 센서구동회로부; 컨트롤러와 컴퓨터와의 사이에 전기적 신호를 인터페이스하는 컨트롤러 구동회로부; 및 초음파 센서부로부터 수신된 패턴정보로부터 당해 피검체의 결함을 판단하는 컴퓨터 프로그램을 소정 저장공간에 구비하는 컴퓨터를 포함한다.
