PURPOSE: A method of grading an extensible markup language-based electronic document version and providing an updated document using the version are provided to effectively manage a document using a version value. CONSTITUTION: Information about the date and time when the contents of a document are added or corrected is used as a version value. When version values of lower structures are corrected, version values of upper structures are changed into the latest data information among version values of the lower structures. Which type of a lower structure is corrected or added is indicated to the version values of the upper structures. When there are lots of lower structures, a changed type is easily found using version values to reduce a period of time required for finding a changed structure.
